Fresh, Green Bedroom Design - Nest Interior Design

Fresh, Green Bedroom Design

Our clients have been living in their condo for a few years, and were ready to transform their bedroom into a colorful and soothing refuge.  They wanted an easy spot to curl up and read in the afternoon, so we got busy building the concept for their space.
Luxurious Primary Bedroom Plan - Nest Interior Design

Luxurious Primary Bedroom Plan

Our client had a generously-scaled bedroom, and was struggling with making it cozy and inviting.  The space had great natural light, tall ceilings and ample square footage.
We started by breaking the room into zones, for sleeping and lounging.  This client loves to curl up and read in her bedroom, so an incredibly comfortable loveseat and lounge chair became a priority.
Sucker for a Banquette

Sucker for a Banquette

A banquette is my favorite secret weapon for a kitchen remodel.  When we can tuck a banquette into a corner of a space, we get to utilize the space that was previously a mere walkway into useful space that can expand the foot print of our client's dining table and seating both.
Spacious and Symmetrical Living Room - Nest Interior Design

Spacious and Symmetrical Living Room

A really generous family room had our client stumped.  She was wondering how to make the most of every inch of their space.  They have tall sons, and everyone needed a spot to stretch out and be together comfortably.
Dramatic Blue and Gray Kitchen Makeover - Nest Interior Design

Dramatic Blue and Gray Kitchen Makeover

This kitchen was large enough, but the space still just wasn't working for this busy family. It felt dark and dated, even though the home itself wasn't all that old.  The client wanted this to be the ultimate gathering space in their home, so we got to work.  The island was undersized, the cabinetry didn't meet the ceiling, and the lighting felt very expected and basic.
Ready to go bolder, we jumped in with this client and designed a space that was crisp blue, fresh gray and white....
Making the Most of Every Inch of Your Space

Making the Most of Every Inch of Your Space

During this family room remodel, we got creative about how to best utilize an empty corner of the space. We made it a destination by turning it into a functional and beautiful dry bar for this couple who loves to entertain their friends, family and neighbors  at home.

Black and blue (and white) all over.... Black and blue is one of my favorite color combinations, and it adds such a sophisticated edge to any space.
Baby Grand Dreams: Creating an Inviting Gathering Space for a Musical Family - Nest Interior Design

Baby Grand Dreams: Creating an Inviting Gathering Space for a Musical Family

Our client's space had all the things you want for a family room - a generous footprint, loads of natural light, architectural interest and great site lines to other adjoining spaces.  So, we were already ahead of the curve, when we started thinking about what this space could be.

9 Ways to Make a Big Family Room Feel Cozy

A big family room...... seems like the ideal scenario, right?  Well, until you sit down and to enjoy a nice quiet evening, and your room feels a bit more like a hotel lobby than than the cozy family retreat you had in mind.  Have you rearranged the furniture for what feels like the hundredth time, and it still just doesn't feel right?

One Cozy Family Room: Seven Different Ways - Nest Interior Design

One Cozy Family Room: Seven Different Ways

Ever wonder how to make the very most of your family room?  Ever wonder how to make your space even cozier for your family on those cold winter evenings?
We have a client that had some good, solid, upholstered pieces, but the space still didn't feel cohesive or finished.  The final layer is often the most important - rugs, tables, lamps and artwork can "sew" a whole space together.

Charlotte Moss Winter House: Design Lessons for Elegant and Inviting Vacation Homes

There are some design books that inspire you the first time you flip through them. Then there are the rare ones that continue to find their way back onto your coffee table, year after year. Winter House by Charlotte Moss is one of those books in my library.
