Green Bedroom Design
Our clients have been living in their condo for a few years, and were ready to transform their bedroom into a colorful and soothing refuge.  They wanted an easy spot to curl up and read in the afternoon, so we got busy building the concept for their space.
This green, blue and neutral wool rug was our inspirational "jumping off point".  With subtle gradations of all the colors displayed in the rug, we had artistic carte blanche to bring varied blues and greens in with abandon.
A cozy, small sofa tucks into an architectural recess in their room, and gives an opportunity to curl up or stretch out with a great book.
The ability to put your feet up feels critical in this space.  The oval ottoman adds comfort, but also gives us the opportunity to add two more textures to the space in the form of fabric and wood finishes.
This lush, green velvet is the perfect cover for the sofa in this room, and is particularly inviting on cold, winter days.
More traditionally-styled night tables create interesting, visual  tension with the more modern, upholstered bed.
This classic bullnose-styled table lamp will bounce light back into the space beautifully.  The light, drum shade allows light to pour through into the space.
This upholstered bed surround is the perfect blend of clean lines and soft, comfortable upholstery.
A pair of these architecturally-inspired mirrors were placed on the wall opposite the room's windows to reflect ample, natural light back into the space.
The client had beautiful family photos and wanted to incorporate them into her new space.  We set about wrapping four of the walls in the window alcove in custom frames that will allow her to update the photos as her grandchildren get older.
A sculptural green glass lamp adds color and texture, and allows the light to pass through it.
A light, lucite and chrome coffee table adds surface area for spreading out favorite books or a cup of tea.
With tall ceilings in this generous space, this bedroom had a disproportionate amount of drywall, so we added an accent wall behind the client's bed to feature a warm, geometric green wallpaper.  We bookended the panel with wood trim, to make it feel intentional and special.
Fresh. watercolor duvet is softly-toned and made from smooth sateen.
Soft, cozy corduroy on the client's favorite reading chair, makes it her favorite spot in the house.
Pillows and roman shades in a crisp stripe add pattern and interest.
Full-length drapery in the window alcove relates closely to the wall color, and the low contrast keeps the space soothing and adds incredible softness.
A glass, mirror and chrome end table reflects natural light and adds valuable surface area.

Chrome, goose neck sconces direct reading light, while in bed, exactly where it is needed.  The reflective finish adds additional texture and contrast to the softer textures.

Adjustable, bedside sconces are perfect for reading, and allow the light to be directed exactly where needed.  The polished nickel finish adds sparkly texture, as well.

Sunny, gold Euro shams add a woven pattern element to the bed, and room in general.
