There’s something timeless about a classic blue kitchen, but when it comes to choosing the right shade, Wyeth Blue by Benjamin Moore is always a standout. Soft yet sophisticated, this historic hue gives these kitchen cabinets a fresh and current feel without losing its sense of warmth and familiarity.  Historic paint colors are always a favorite for us here at Nest, those colors always have supreme staying power.

For this particular kitchen, maintaining an open flow was essential. With multiple access points and a family that loves to gather, we needed a layout that kept movement easy and unobstructed. The large central island serves as both a functional prep space and a natural hub—perfect for everything from morning coffee to after-school homework sessions.

What truly makes this kitchen feel special is the mix of textures and materials. The marble backsplash and countertops bring a refined contrast to the painted cabinetry, while unlacquered brass hardware adds just the right amount of vintage charm. Open shelving showcases a curated collection of ceramic dishware and well-loved kitchen accessories, adding a personal touch that feels both layered and effortless.

The finishing details—antique wooden bowls, a well-worn rug, and a terracotta vase filled with fresh hydrangeas—give the space soul. It’s this balance of old and new, polished and imperfect, that makes the kitchen feel welcoming and lived-in. Because at the end of the day, a beautiful kitchen isn’t just about design—it’s about the stories that unfold in it.
