Working today on a lower level design for a busy family's new space! This family of five wanted to add a coziness and warmth to a previously unused and unfinished space.
Layering luscious green with light and dark neutrals is an easy palette to live with, and with this space being subterranean - the green brings a bit of nature into the new family room.
Deep green and creamy white have crisp contrast and warmth. The verdant green paint color becomes the color of the new bar cabinetry and balances the visual weight of the lounge furniture on the other end of the space, and the creamy white brightens the ceiling.
Varied green glass pendants float over the bar peninsula, and have an art-glass and hand-blown vibe.
Since we are, after all, in Wisconsin, there must be a little bit of Green Bay Packer paraphernalia introduced into the new bar,
The upper cabinets will have stainless and frosted glass doors to add texture and bounce light into the room.
This salt-glazed lamp adds incredible texture and scale to the space and peppers the space with warmth.
This new, architecturally inspired cabinet has a window-type reference in the darkest corner of the space, and is the perfect place for the new, larger television to rest. This is also the perfect spot for games and puzzles to be stored.
This multi-toned green Ikat fabric perfectly brings many neutral and green tones together and will be the window treatments.
This pedestal-based game table will be the perfect addition to the bar area for games, puzzles, projects and snacks.
These comfortable, and see through-chairs will be perfect to double as game chairs, and can easily be pulled into the lounge area as additional seating.
A hooked wool cream and black rug adds warmth to the game area, and will be placed under the pool table.
A waterfall-styled coffee table is perfect for recessing an ottoman under, in the prime seating grouping. With the ottoman tucked under, it allows extra seating, but doesn't take up additional "footprint" in the space.
Round, upholstered ottomans are slid under the built-in console behind their new sectional. This will become perfect spot to catch a snack and the big game.
Green, wood-printed fabric are layered into pillows on the new, neutral sectional.
These compact swivels are extremely comfortable and flexible for chatting with gamers, or catching a moving.
This Packer fan erred on the side of just a little bit more football and Lambeau loveliness into his new bar.
This sculptural, gray and wood-toned sofa balances all the soft, neutral upholstery of the adjacent sectional.
This modern, soft sectional is skirted to the floor to counteract all the "legginess" of the game table, barstools, end tables and game chairs.
A green, leopard-printed ottoman could swap in for the waterfall cocktail, if the client prefers.
Highly-textured cream and black wool area rug adds coziness and unites the primary seating grouping.
All in all, this space is ready for some fun and family gatherings!
