Tucked inside a gracious 1860s home, this petite powder room needed more than an update—it deserved a moment. The space may be small, but the opportunity to infuse character and charm was huge.

We started with an antique chest of drawers, lovingly retrofitted as a vanity, complete with a marble top and brass faucet for a touch of timeless polish. The warmth of the wood piece grounds the space and brings that “collected over time” feel we love. Layered on top, a bold geometric wallpaper and patterned floor tile add rhythm and fresh energy—while still respecting the home’s vintage soul.

This pattern-on-pattern moment makes the room feel intentional and welcoming, not merely functional. Every inch matters in a compact powder room, and here, every detail delights. Guests walk in and immediately know this home isn’t afraid of beauty or personality—even in the smallest spaces.

At A Nested Home, we specialize in making older homes shine again—with finishes, furnishings, and function that fit your family and your era.
