Gale Laundry Room

The 1970s were not a kind era for kitchens, baths and laundry areas.  This split-level, circa 1974 home was no exception.  This laundry room was also the powder room when we started.  So everyone who came to the home to visit had to wedge themselves into the cramped laundry/powder room amongst the client’s dirty laundry to use the facilities.  So, we really, really sharpened our pencils and scraped and borrowed every inch of space to carve out a separate powder room for this busy family.  This space also had low ceilings, so we really had to get creative to get storage, surface, room for sorting and space for hampers.
