Canvas Tee Pee

This was my son's single-favorite thing in our playroom when he was little.  He could retreat in there, draw the flaps and have his own private world, all while still being near us and connected with us.  When there is sensory overload, this is an amazing way for a child to control their own environment.  It is also a gentle way for them to tell you they are overloaded and need a break.   Young children want to be near their family, but sometimes environmental stimuli can become too much.  A canvas teepee is the perfect addition to any play space.  This one is large enough to be able to bring in a couple of toys, or even play with a sibling or friend.  It can easily tuck into a corner of the room, and fold up when not in use.  But, to be clear, ours was never "not in use"!
